Early access · ages 2 to 12+

The kids’ tablet that’s actually good for them.

tadatab mixes the fun stuff kids love (videos, games, browsing) with learning games they genuinely enjoy. Play for a while, finish a quick learning quest, and ta‑da! Fun time unlocks again.

  • No ads in tadatab games or menus
  • Rules set from your phone, not the tablet
  • Learning games from age 2 to 12 and beyond
A 7-inch tadatab shows a child’s home screen: a fun-time meter with 18 minutes left, and tiles for Videos, Games, Explore and Learn. In front, a 5-inch tadatab plays the Vocabulary game: it says “Monkey!” and the child taps the monkey among a cat and a fish.

Why tadatab

Less zombie mode.
More ta‑da! mode.

Screens aren't the enemy. Endless, mindless screens are. tadatab keeps the fun and adds a rhythm that kids (and parents) can actually live with.

Zombie mode

The glazed stare you know too well.

  • Autoplay rolls from one video to the next, with no natural place to stop.
  • Games built to keep kids tapping, not thinking.
  • Every “time’s up” turns into a negotiation.
  • Parental controls behind a PIN on the very device your child holds.

Ta‑da! mode

Bright eyes, busy brain, happy kid.

  • Fun time runs on a rhythm you choose: say, 30 minutes of fun, then 10 of learning.
  • Learning games your child actually likes, at exactly their level.
  • The tablet does the reminding, so you don’t have to be the bad guy.
  • Your rules live on your phone, where little fingers can’t change them.

How it works

Fun time, earned.

You set the rhythm once in the parent app. tadatab keeps the beat every day, so screen time stops being a tug of war.

  1. 1

    Fun time

    Play, watch, explore

e.g. 30 min of active fun

Videos, fun games and browsing. Only active time counts: if the tablet sits idle on the couch, the clock waits too.

  2. 2

    Learning quest

    A quick brain workout

    e.g. 10 min, or 3 levels

Your child plays learning games in the categories you ticked, for the minutes or the number of levels you chose.

  3. 3

    Ta-da!

    Fun time unlocks again

    and the loop starts over

No nagging, no “five more minutes”. They earned their fun time, and they know it.

…and around again. Every number here is an example: you choose them in the parent app.

One afternoon on a 30 / 10 rhythm

30 minutes of fun, a 10-minute quest, and so on until the daily limit or bedtime you set. Then the tablet rests too.

Learning games

Learning games they actually ask for.

Each category is one game that grows with your child. In the parent app, you tick which categories count toward unlocking fun time.

Grounded in how children learn

Vocabulary follows the order in which children typically learn words (their “age of acquisition”). Numbers starts with seeing small amounts at a glance (subitizing) and counting, then builds up to arithmetic fact families. Levels adapt to your child’s answers, so practice stays in that sweet spot between too easy and too hard.

Ages 2 to 12+

One game that grows up with them.

A 2-year-old and a 10-year-old can play the same game at very different levels. Levels follow your child's answers, so they can race ahead of their age or take their time.

12 and beyond

No ceiling at a birthday. The game follows answers, not age, so a gifted or older child who’s ready keeps on climbing.

Shown: Vocabulary and Numbers, the two games available today. Ages are typical starting points, not limits.

The parent app’s rules screen for a paired 7-inch tadatab: 30 minutes of fun time, then 10 minutes of learning. Words & Vocabulary and Numbers & Math count as learning. Safe search is on, with settings for YouTube rules and allowed and blocked sites. Daily limit: 1 hour 30 minutes. Bedtime: 7:30 pm.

The parent app

You set the rules. From your phone.

Pair the parent app with the tablet by scanning the code on its screen. From then on, every setting that matters is in your pocket.

  • The rhythm

How much fun time comes before a learning quest, and how long the quest lasts, in minutes or in levels.

  • What counts as learning

Tick the categories that unlock fun time. Want more number practice this month? Tick only Numbers.

  • Daily limits and bedtime

A total for the day and a bedtime, on top of the rhythm.

  • Internet rules

Allowed and blocked sites, YouTube rules and safe search.

  • Progress you can see

Progress in each category, so you know what your child is learning, not only how long they played.

Why your phone?

Because a PIN on the tablet is a puzzle, and kids love puzzles. Parent-only settings live in the parent app, never behind an on-tablet gate alone. On the tablet, kids can change only kid-safe settings.

Safety and privacy

Safe by design, not by add-on.

The heavy lifting happens on our secure servers, so the tablet stays light, fast and hard to mess up.

  1. The internet

Websites, videos and everything in between.

  2. Our secure servers

Websites run here, in an isolated, sandboxed browser.

  3. Your child’s tablet

Shows the result. Web pages never run on the tablet itself.

  • No ads

tadatab’s own games and screens carry no advertising. None.

  • Cookie banners, auto-rejected

On the tablet, cookie banners are rejected automatically. Kids shouldn’t have to tap “accept all” to watch a video.

  • As little child data as possible

We collect the minimum we need about your child. tadatab is designed with COPPA and Quebec’s Law 25 in mind.

  • Diagnostics that don’t peek

When we collect diagnostics to fix bugs, they never include what pages show.

  • One simple home bar

One bar leaves any app and comes home. Games resume exactly where your child left off.

  • Paired with your phone

The tablet and the parent app are paired. Grown-up settings stay on the grown-up’s phone.

The tablet

Small, light, and made for small hands.

Two sizes, one simple idea: a kid-sized tablet that does a few things really well. An efficient, low-power chip runs the show, and our servers do the heavy lifting.

Questions

Good questions, straight answers.

When can I get a tadatab, and how much will it cost?

We haven’t announced a price or a launch date yet. tadatab is in early access: join the waitlist and you’ll hear first when there’s news.

What ages is it for?

From about 2 to 12, and beyond for kids who race ahead. Each learning game adapts to your child’s answers, so they play at their level, not at their birthday’s.

Can my child skip the learning part?

Fun time unlocks when the learning quest you set is done. The rules live in the parent app on your phone, so they can’t be changed from the tablet. On the tablet itself, kids can change only kid-safe settings.

Does time count if the tablet is just lying there?

No. Only active time counts: time when your child is actually using the tablet. Idle time doesn’t eat into fun time.

Which learning games are ready today?

Two: Vocabulary (351 picture concepts and 60 written words, from first words to reading words, in stages S0 to S9) and Numbers (from counting and “give me 3” to addition and subtraction fact families, in stages N1 to N8). Memory, Logic & Patterns, Letters & Reading, and Shapes & Space are coming.

Which languages does it speak?

The Vocabulary game speaks its prompts with on-screen captions in English and in Canadian French.

Can my child watch YouTube?

If you allow it, yes, and it counts as fun time. In the parent app you set YouTube rules, safe search, and the sites that are allowed or blocked.

Why do websites run on your servers instead of the tablet?

Websites open in an isolated, sandboxed browser on our secure servers, and the tablet shows the result. The heavy lifting happens there, so the tablet stays light, fast and hard to mess up. Cookie banners are rejected automatically, and our diagnostics never include what pages show.
